  1. At the risk of sounding pretentious, the urinal piece is post-modern art.
Its intent, from the beginning, was to get people into art galleries to
look at something so ridiculous and ponder its meaning. The artist realizes
it’s something that shouldn’t be considered art, but does just enough to
put his own spin on it to get some sort of reaction out of people at their
expense. It’s using the medium of the art crowd to comment on the state of
what the art community was in at the time it was displayed.

  2. art is an intentional or accidental think that you were either inspired to
do or that you just had a sudden urge to pick up a pencil or a pen or paint
or whatever and turn it into something that you see as beautiful or
amazing. to the rest of the world, it could look like a complete pile of
s**t but to you it’s the best thing that you’ve ever done. it’s when every
little single drop of paint or every stroke of your pencil counts in this
one piece. or when that one bolt has to fit onto your monument just right
or else the whole thing is thrown off. it’s when you take the time and
effort to make something that you are proud of. that is art.

  3. If this is art then all I have to do is sell a picture of a white square
and call it the “Mirror into Everything” and some idiot will spend 1
million dollars on something that took me no effort whatsoever for me to
do. Or I could spend thousands of dollars to go to art school and make just
enough to support myself. The whole “modern art” stuff is just a bunch of
pompous fools pretending to appreciate minimal effort.

  4. Art used to consist of massive sculptures, hand crafted by artisans for
public display and adoration. A good piece of art took months, if not
years, to be completed. Modern “art” is just a contest to see who can make
up the craziest description about a drop of paint thrown onto a random
    canvas.

  5. That kid at the end didn’t have a watch on. But he looked at his wrist as
if he was checking the time. How silly.

  6. I’m mixed feelings. I don’t art like “unmade bed” or “scratched canvas”. It
is recreated, done over a million times by many artists and they all make
money from it because they had once made something amazing, got famous for
it but now the inspiration fountain has run dry, but because of their name
can still make money off a pile of bricks.
I like art that is original and to be original it takes effort, the effort
to know the colours, the effort to be able to not only create your own
vision, but your own techniques to it aswell. Theres no technique to not
making your bed, I create that every day yeah it says a lot about me, thats
informative but is it expressive?? I don’t express myself through what I
leave be hind. I express with my words, my emotions, drawings and my
photography. Ive captured a moment in my thoughts or in my vision that made
me feel something and I want to share it.

Half of these crappy works of art are literally just someone trying to
justify and be open minded even though they don’t HAVE to accept all art so
they come up with some bullshit meaning (i.e. oh the light and depth in
scratches) and the artist just goes along with it. I can guarantee the
artist did not have that on their minds.
Yeah, these things stir up a conversation, but if it’s just a conversation
of how it… is there and that it is, that it exists, then its not really
an inspired conversation- come on you had a whole mythical episode about
cat shit. Is that art too?

my definition of art? It has to stir emotion in its viewers, they have to
come up with a meaning to them and be able to relate to it. Make a story
and even just admire the effort made. Be able to see, that the artist CAN
relate to it- then be able to question.. how.

Its not enough ticking one of those boxes, it has to tick all of them.

  7. OW the famous I could have done this, but the question is did you do it?, I
totally agree and i think the best definition that exists is what reth said
art is something made or something to which a human has given a meaning or
purpose, from the point you want to see it as art, it already becomes art,
as art is subjective and dosent depend on anyone else but youself

  8. Hahhaha, in GMM more of this episode, I discovered a dark secret of Link!
Hahha, it was to funny 😛 Hope it wasn’t a “Titanic” kind of situation 😛

  9. Well I think art should be something that reflects on the culture of the
people of the time – such as implied by that movie Monuments Men that’s out
    right now.
I’m not entirely sure that things such as a red square in a green square
will be able to tell future generations too much about our generation. And
it would definitely not be worth going into Nazi Germany to save…

  10. Art can be anything. It doesn’t have to be something beautiful or hard to
create, you just have to have the idea to create it.

  11. “The Art of Villainy” – Loki stars in a new ad for Jaguar F-TYPE. Car
commercials simply don’t get any better than this. Tnx to +Srdjan Tomovic

  12. Am I the only one who noticed a growl when he says this realm? yes? Okay
I’ll just go to the Post-tomatic Stress Disorder clinic in town and attempt
    to get treatment…
