I wedded a man who inherited their father’s love for home theatre. So obviously when we relocated in to our own house a home theater is in order. I am lucky I have at my removal a home theater geek to explain to me what a home theater will be, my husband. He is also a licensed DIYer so another reward, savings on installation price.
We have the 22-square meter room which usually we converted into our very own custom home theater . The room is not that big therefore a gigantic screen and huge speakers are a definite not good practice. Actually the number one consideration should be the budget, and usually the smaller the room the smaller the budget you will burn off. Our strategy is to design a home theater for the twenty two square meter room on a relatively low budget and purchase the particular equipment one by one. Warning, purchasing home theater equipment is a very complicated activity. Be wary of sales people, who will bombard you along with terms like “FullHD”, “HD capable”, “Blu-Ray”, “1080p”, “720p”, “THX”, etc. Hopefully the experience will help to put some state of mind to all this home theater mumbo jumbo.
1st on the agenda is the screen. We had a great deal on this 1, for Php 27, 500 we have a 720p high definition capable 42″ Plasma television. So why not the Full HD television, apparently the human eye are not able to distinguish the difference between complete HD and HD able TVs for 42″ beneath screen unless you have extremely vision. And its 27K, it’s a steal.
following in the agenda are the loudspeakers, amplifier and receiver. This is the tricky part, usually with regard to custom installation these are bought separately. In our case due to space and budget restriction we opted for “Home theatre in a Box” or HTIB are basically a packed home theater system which offers out of the box home cinema experience.
The speakers, amp and receiver are included into a single package. It also eliminates the connection guesswork that usually comes with home theater. HTIB uses a solitary wire called HDMI wire to connect the TVs, dvd disks, etc. For our HTIB all of us chose 6 speakers, five. 1 surround sound and a few input system. This set all of us back at around Php 15, 000.
The last thing that we bought is a PlayStation 3 or PS3. Why the particular PS3? It serves all of us as the DVD player, BluRay gamer, Music Player and most of all it is also a gaming console making it our own main source of family home entertainment. This home theater of our bait is easy to set up, just connected it all in to the HTIB via the HDMI cable, put in the most recent DVD and just like that we have the cinema on our very own house.
